Happy baby caught on tape!

Emalyn is starting to sound more and more like Gabriela when she squeals. Here's a little clip of Gabriela trying to get Emalyn to laugh!

Oh, and after watching the clip, I noticed the mess in the background and I'm so embarrassed! But, we're in the middle of packing so the entire house is that way. Oh well I guess :)

Baby legs

So there's this new product called BabyLegs, and basically they are leg warmers for babies, and they are SO cute, but expensive ($15 a pair)! I found a website that shows how to turn women's knee high socks into the babylegs, so I went out to Walmart and got 2 pairs for $1. It worked!
What a cutie! :)

Happy Father's Day

Just wanted to say thank you to my dad for all of his good choices in life (being baptized at 14, coming to the United States at 16 for college, moving to CA to work and finding & marrying my mom, working hard to provide for 8 children, and raising us all in the church-just to name a few) that led him to the man he is today! I'm grateful for all that he has given me and cherish wonderful memories of tender moments of him teaching me. Thank you for all of your hard work and love!
(Here he is 2 years ago visiting us and playing w/Gabriela at the beach)

Also, I wanted to say thank you to my wonderful husband that works so hard to provide for me & my children; spiritually, financially, physically, emotionally, etc. I am so proud of his accomplishments in school and his career! I'm grateful for all of his choices as well, and look forward to many, many more Father's Days.

...and thank you to Isa for taking these pictures! :)

Father's Day dinner, thanks to a good friend of mine (Kimberly) for the recipes! It's now Danny's favorite meal!

5 months old!

I can't believe how fast the last 5 months have gone! Emalyn was playing on the floor last week and scooted/rolled over to Gabriela's sippy cup that she had left behind. I didn't think anything of it until I heard a loud suck! She figured it out!! I quickly jumped up and grabbed it and it was empty (whew!).
That gave me an idea though. Emalyn takes a bottle ok, if she has to, but takes forever and a day to drink what she nurses in 8 minutes. So I got down the Avent bottles that Gabriela would use on occasion and put the soft spout on. She loved it and drained it fast! Yay! Oh, and here is another blanket I just made. Both sides are that super soft minky and I love it!

Beach Trip!

We took one last trip to the beach and had a blast! We got this new tent for Emalyn to sit in, since she's too young for sunblock, and brought her bumbo so she could see everyone. I found her making this funny face (you have to click on it to see it bigger!) which lasted a couple of mintues, which makes me wonder if she got salt/sand on her lip :) She sat watching the kids for almost an hour before I found her head nodding... I took her out of the seat and put her on some towels and she was out. We play sea sounds when she takes her naps at home, so this probably is what made her sleepy in the first place.
Emalyn wasn't too sure about the water temp at first, but then liked it just fine. Bren and Isa spent the whole time out in the water with a few short breaks to play with Gabs.

Gabriela had SO much fun at the beach! She played in the sand, went out and jumped waves with us, and then got to ride on the boogie board.
We all got great tans, but poor Danny got FRIED (even w/sunblock!).

Growing up

It wasn't until Gabriela said, "mama, Emalyn's getting bigger!" that I really saw it. She moves around all over the floor by rolling or scooting, she's cutting her two bottom teeth, she reaches for toys (and anything else she can) and hangs on and plays with things, she's blowing bubbles & raspberries, gets very distracted when nursing, loves to stand and "walk", and has now found her toes & feet!

Emalyn loves to play "peek-a-boo", and here she's playing by herself :) I left her in her pack 'n play and I heard her squealing and laughing, so I went over to see what was so funny and saw that the blanket was over her head and she couldn't see! I called her name and she looked up and grinned. So cute!
