If any of you have children that wear Carter's clothing with the "tagless" labels from the Fall 2007 clothing line, please check out this link:

When Emalyn was 6 weeks old she developed a rash on her back and chest, and also had a fever (unrelated probably) but she was almost admitted to the hospital because babies under 2 months can't fight viruses. The pediatrician had no idea what "virus" it could be. They ran a bunch of tests and because they all came back negative they let me take her home, but we kept a CLOSE eye on her. Now I know what was going on!! She had 7 long-sleeved onesies (newborn sized) that had this label.
Carter's is issuing full refunds for these items, (even if your baby has outgrown them!), so give them a call. Good luck!!

ouch!
This morning has been kind of rough. Emalyn was in the tub (after a blow-out in her crib) and as I was washing her, she tried to stand up and slipped. It wasn't a big fall (she was still sitting-just leaning forward) but bumped her mouth nonetheless. Add to it the pain of teething (she's let us know just how painful teething is the last 4 nights!) and she screamed for a little while. I didn't see any blood, so I thought all was good and then later saw her gums. Poor baby!Later I was shutting our vertical windows and because they are tall and old, they don't slide well. Well, I started to slide one and the top tipped forward and stuck, so I had to push it back to upright position with my left and push at the base to close it with my right hand. Oh, and you have to exert some force as well to shut them, and as you can see I didn't get my hand off the top fast enough. After 2 hours of really intense pain, and not being able to move it, I reluctantly agreed to go to Urgent Care. Luckily it's not broken, and ice and advil seem to help a little.
Unfortunately, right now it hurts to lift anything with my left hand, Emalyn thinks it's a toy, and I've already hit it on something and came close to crying. It's going to be a long week until this heals...

New

Emalyn is starting to get into things (and onto things for that matter), but so far not as much as Gabriela. It's so fun to see her little mind analyzing her surroundings and figuring out the world around her.
Isa & Gabriela are good about trying new things and eat almost anything, but Brendan is quite the opposite. Last week my parents got Panda Express for dinner and the girls loved it...and Brendan did too!! The chopsticks helped them be more adventurous :) I didn't think Gabriela would be able to manage it, but she was diligent and got it!
I saw this picture on a fabric designer's website and HAD to make these pajama pants!! They looked so cute! Well, I got the fabric this weekend and just finished making the pants and I love them, but somehow they still look better on the model. I think I need longer legs to carry the big print :) Also, the coloring is quite different. In the picture above it looks like a black background, but mine is a chocolate brown, and then the leaves and polka dots on my fabric look more yellow than green. I can't tell if it's because of Photoshop or the fabric is altogether a different shade. I'll have to go do some research :)

Meet Carolina
This was an early Christmas present for Danny, done 2 months ago!! Right before we moved, I bought a bunch of UNC fabric so that I could make a quilt at some point. Well, the day after I arrived in Tucson I bought my new sewing machine and couldn't wait to try it out! I knew exactly what to start on. Instead of the traditional 100% cotton on the back, I decided to use minky fabric so that it's nice and soft. He loves it! I finished my own quilt a couple of weeks ago, but then decided to do more quilting on it, so pictures will come later. I love this new hobby!!Friday, October 3, 2008
AWESOME MOVIE WEBSITE!
I don't remember how I came across this website, but I am SO glad I did!! I think it deserves a post of its own-it's that awesome. Here's an excerpt from the website to help explain what they do:
"We enable adults to determine whether a movie is appropriate for them or their children, according to their own criteria. Unlike the MPAA we do not assign an inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE & PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10. We also explain in detail why a film rates high or low in a specific category, and we include instances of SUBSTANCE USE, a list of DISCUSSION TOPICS that may elicit questions from kids and MESSAGES the film conveys."
This website includes NEW RELEASE films currently in the theaters. No more excuses for kids (or you) going and not being sure about the possible questionable content! Please check it out and pass along the information.
